Children's Choir: Student in grades 4-8 can participate in the Children's choir. Students sing once a month at the 10:00am mass, for school performances, and Stations of the Cross during Lent. 

Drama Club: Students in grades 4-8 have the opportunity to be in drama club. Students showcase two major performances a year; a Christmas performance and a spring play. Some of the plays that the students performed were Alice in Wonderland, The Wizard of Oz, and Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs.

Math Club: This elective is for students that enjoy solving problems, working with their classmates as a team and participating in challenging competitions both online and in person. Students will work on solving real world problems, explore math concepts and better understand mathematical techniques.
 
Band: St. Bridget of Kildare offers band to students in grades 4 - 8. Students can participate in either beginner or advanced band. Students perform about three times a year for the school and church community. 

CYO Sports: Students have the opportunity to participate in Fall, Winter, or Spring sports. Sports include; Volleyball, Basketball, Cross Country, Baseball, Softball, and Cheerleading. St. Bridget of Kildare holds two annual tournaments: Volleyball and Basketball. 

Church Ministries:Students who are interested in being a alter server will be able to begin this ministry in 5th grade.


Inventors Club: In this elective students will research and report on the famous inventors and inventions that changed the world. Students will also participate in the Invention Convention program. This program will inspire students to create their own invention, present them to the school community and have the chance to take part in the Invention Convention Regional Finals. This event is where the top student inventors from around Ohio meet to compete with other inventors in their age group for the chance to win educational scholarships and other great prizes


Debate Team: This elective is a great place for students to explore the art of “organized arguing.”  The students will be discussing current issues and if they don’t already have a strong voice or good presentation skills, they will learn these abilities in a fun and safe environment.  The purpose of this elective is to teach students in the fundamentals of debate, public speaking, and essay writing.


Writing Workshop: This elective is for those students who enjoy creative writing, and having their work published. We will go through the creative writing process and develop our writer’s voice by responding to verbal and pictorial prompts, writing short stories, poems, and other creative pieces. Students will establish an online writing portfolio, collaborate on writing pieces, and develop editing skills. Additionally, those students in writing workshop will showcase their work on a blog. At the end of the year, the best writing pieces will be published in an iBook.

Extra Curricular Activities

Broadcast Studio: ​Students put on a morning broadcast called The Bridget Beat to the rest of the student body. Students include current events, school news, prayer, and even words of wisdom and jokes of the day. Students are responsible for the entire broadcast from writing the script, controlling the camera & sound, and being the anchors of the show.

St. Bridget of Kildare Elementary School is a Pre-K through 8th grade Catholic elementary school located in Parma, Ohio. Our mission at St. Bridget of Kildare is to educate the mind, nurture the soul, and build the kingdom of God in a Christ centered atmosphere.

Book Club: ​Book club is an elective for those students who like to read privately and in a group. We will work together to discuss and understand books on a chapter-by-chapter basis. Book club encourages collaborative reading strategies. Students engage in different roles in group discussion about our readings, and work together to engage text.

Robotics Club: ​Junior High Students have the opportunity to work with the latest in robotic technology from Lego Inc. The educational focus for this club is based on the S.T.E.M Curriculum (science, technology, engineering, and mathematics). The goal of the Robotics Club is to develop a better understanding and passion for S.T.E.M ideas in the classroom. Students work in small groups building, programming, and completing challenges with their robots.

National Junior Honor Society: ​The National Junior Honor Society (NJHS) is a national organization established in 1929 to recognize outstanding students. Members must demonstrate excellence in scholarship, leadership, service, character, and citizenship. Each spring, students’ academic performance in 7th and 8th grade is reviewed and those eligible are invited to apply for membership. The St. Bridget Chapter of the National Junior Honor Society was established in the spring of 2013 and currently has 7 members.
